Land O'Lakes' Williams gets first offer

Land O'Lakes linebacker Shadow Williams has his first scholarship offer. North Carolina Central has offered Williams, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said Tuesday morning in a text message.

Williams is one of the North Suncoast's top linebackers. The 6-foot, 221-pound senior was second on the team with 62 tackles and three sacks, despite missing time with a hand injury. He also forced a team-best three fumbles and recovered two.

Williams was a first-team all-Sunshine Athletic Conference selection and participated in Saturday's Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium.

As a junior, Williams racked up 133 tackles and 11 sacks for the Gators.
