Former Largo linebacker Derrick Doss, the Tampa Bay Times 2012 Pinellas County defensive player of the year, has committed to the College of the Sequoias, a community college in Visalia, Calif.

Last season, Doss recorded 73 tackles, and had an interception and two fumble recoveries in leading the Packers to an undefeated regular season. He also was a standout wrestler and finished as the Class 2A state runnerup at 189 pounds.

College of the Sequoias struggled down the stretch last season, losing its final six games.
