Armwood S Leon McQuay III, the nation's 40th-ranked recruit according to ESPN and the area's top uncommitted senior, has set up official visits to Vanderbilt and Michigan, his father told the Times this morning.
Leon McQuay Jr. said his son will attend the Vandy-Florida game in Nashville on Oct. 13, and the Michigan State-Michigan game in Ann Arbor the following weekend. The elder McQuay said the family also is trying to set up visits to Southern California and Oregon, but isn't sure if they're holding official visits during the season.
Leon Jr. said he and his son had talked about the younger McQuay announcing his college decision at the Under Armour All-America Game at Tropicana Field in early January. Now, they aren't sure if they'll be able to hold out that long.
"USC and Michigan are pretty close to their (scholarship) limit," Leon Jr. said. "We're just letting it play out and trying not to make a bad decision. You don't want to commit to something if there's nothing to commit to."
