As most of you know by now, Robinson DL D.J. Woods signed with Illinois earlier this week. Here are some notes about Woods and his signing:

-According to the Illini, his given name is Dejazz Woods, and he is listed by that on the Illinois athletic Web site.

-He is the Illini’s 21st signee in the Class of 2010.

-He is the son of DeAndre Woods and Sabrina Watson.

-According to Illinihq.com, Woods “fills a big need for the Illini on the defensive line.” The site says Illinois signed only one other DL last week.

-Rivals.com lists Woods as a two-star prospect.

-Woods’ visit to Illinois earlier this week was cut short because the team wanted to make sure he got out of town before a snowstorm hit.
