Jim Harte has resigned as boys soccer coach at Clearwater Central Catholic to take the same job at Carrollwood Day School.

Harte, 55, coached the Marauders 25 years, with six state titles in that span. This past season he led CCC to the region semifinals.

"It felt right," Harte said. "I'd been at CCC 25 years and that sounds like a nice, round number. I don't leave the school with any bad feelings at all. I'm just looking forward to the challenge of starting from the bottom and building something."

Harte will remain a PE teacher at Cypress Woods Elementary in Palm Harbor. He said none of his assistant coaches had expressed interest in pursuing the head position at CCC.

Carrollwood Day just completed its fourth season of varsity soccer. The Patriots were winless the first three years, but won five games this past season.
