Dazmond Patterson and the Plant City Raiders entered Friday's Class 5A, District 6 game against rival Durant fully aware of the contest's playoff implications: Win, or go home.

With starting quarterback Bennie Coney dismissed from the team two weeks ago, Patterson also knew he would have to put the Raiders offense on his back during the home stretch of the season. And he continued to do just that against the Cougars, racking up 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns to go along with a 70-yard score on a screen pass from Nick Rodriguez.

Having beaten Durant and lost to Newsome, Plant City can clinch a playoff spot if the Wolves beat the Cougars this week. If Durant bounces back with a win, the Raiders will be part of a three-way tie and have to play their way into the playoffs. And if it comes to that, expect No. 28 to once again lead the way.
