Anclote RB/LB Willie Barrett has picked up his first college offer, from Marist, the senior announced Tuesday on Twitter.

Barrett is one of the North Suncoast’s top two-way players. The 6-foot, 210-pound bruiser is the Sharks’ second-leading rusher (503 yards, four touchdowns) and leading tackler (62). He’s also picked up two sacks and two interceptions for Anclote.

Barrett was a first-team all-North Suncoast selection last fall after rushing for a county-best 1,400 yards and carrying the Sharks to their first playoff appearance in program history. He was No. 65 in the Times’ preseason HomeTeam 100.

Marist plays in the Pioneer League of the NCAA’s Football Championship Subdivision. The Red Foxes are 3-3 this fall.
