Pinellas Park offensive coordinator Max Smith is the new Dunedin football coach, replacing Jack Benson, who resigned after one season.
An official announcement is expected later today.
Smith coordinated an offense that averaged over 250 yards a game last season despite losing its starting quarterback midway through the season. The Patriots were 5-5. He will inherit a Dunedin team that was 2-8 under Benson.
Smith, 26, will join Countryside's Jared Davis as the two youngest football coaches in Pinellas County.
