Seminole junior Alex McGathey is not only the top pitcher in the state, he's the top pitcher in the nation, according to Maxpreps.com. McGathey has pitched 44.1 innings this season and has a 0.16 ERA.
He has 50 strikeouts and 16 walks and is 8-0. McGathey is narrowly ahead of Jordan Versteeg of Mount Paran Christian in Atlanta, who has a 0.18 ERA. McGathey recently pitched a shutout in Seminole's 11-0 district championship win over Clearwater.
