Michael Hall has resigned as girls basketball coach at Boca Ciega, according to assistant principal for athletics Deb Fabrizio.

Hall recently completed his third season at Boca Ciega and compiled a record of 47-33. The Pirates slipped to 6-15 this season and failed to make the region tournament. Last season was Hall’s most successful. Boca Ciega was 24-8 and lost to Lakewood in the region semifinals.

Fabrizio said Hall resigned to join his family on Florida’s east coast. He will complete the school year as a health teacher at Boca Ciega before leaving.

Fabrizio said the vacant coaching job has been posted and will remain open until April 18.

“We’re looking for a teacher first and a coach second,’’ Fabrizio said. “We’re going to take our time and make sure we get the right fit.’’
