Darren Hambrick, LB, Hernando (6-2, 215 pounds)

The latest: The junior has landed his first BCS offer. Missouri has offered the Hernando pass rusher, Hambrick confirmed Thursday morning in a text message. The Tigers’ offer continues their push into Tampa Bay since joining the SEC.

Offers: Western Kentucky, Kent State, UMass, Missouri

Last season: Hambrick was one of the Leopards’ leaders with 81 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery and was among Hernando’s leaders in QB hurries. Florida and Miami are among the other schools that have expressed interest.

We say: Hambrick is a tenacious pass rusher and one of the North Suncoast’s top talents. He played defensive end for Hernando last fall but projects as a linebacker. He’s the son of the former Pasco Pirate, Florida Gator and Dallas Cowboy of the same name.
