Mitchell QB to visit Stetson

Mitchell senior quarterback Spencer Whittaker will visit Stetson University this weekend on a recruiting trip.

The 5-foot-9, 150-pound Whittaker has thrown for four touchdowns and rushed for four more for the Mustangs. Stetson is recruiting him as a defensive back. Whittaker is a good athlete and was invited to the Blue-Grey National Super Football Combine over the summer.

Stetson is just starting its football program and will begin playing in the Pioneer League in 2013.
