Mitchell shortstop Conner Hale will continue his baseball career collegiately at the State College of Florida after signing recently with the Manatees.
Hale also had interest from Saint Leo and Daytona State College but decided State College of Florida was the best fit.
"They have a great baseball program," Mitchell head coach Scot Wilcox said.
Through 16 games, Hale leads 13-3 Mitchell in batting (.554), home runs (2), stolen bases (11), runs (26) and is tied for the team lead with eight doubles. He is second on the Mustangs in RBIs (18).
State College of Florida advanced to the JUCO World Series last season after winning the FCCAA State Championship.
