Mitchell senior baseball player PJ Dejesus has verbally committed to Piedmont College, Mustangs coach Scot Wilcox said Monday in an email.

Dejesus earned honorable-mention all-North Suncoast honors last season after a solid junior year.

He batted .290 with three doubles while scoring 10 runs and committing only three errors at first base/pitcher.

The 6-foot-1 Dejesus posted a 1.35 ERA and 3-1 record on the mound. He struck out 12 batters and walked five in 20.2 innings.

Piedmont is an NCAA Division III school in Georgia. The Lions have recruited Dejesus as both a pitcher and a position player.
