Chalk up another state title for Plant's football and volleyball programs.

Both teams, which captured the latest in their litany of state titles last month, have been named the state's academic team champion in their respective sports (and classifications) by the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Plant's volleyball team, winner of four consecutive state crowns, won the Class 6A academic title with a cumulative team GPA of 3.745. The Panthers football team, which won its second consecutive state title on Dec. 18, earned the 5A football honor with a collective 3.107 GPA.

They were hardly alone in the proverbial winner's circle. Eight other local fall sports teams also won academic championships. Here they are:

Girls Bowling
