Nature Coast offfensive lineman Nick Ciucci has orally committed to play at Division III SUNY Maritime (N.Y.) College, Sharks assistant Robert Kazmier said in an e-mail.

Kazmier and Sharks assistant Charles Liggett both shopped him around at the East Bay recruiting fair in February. The fair is aimed at helping schools with limited recruiting budgets meet with schools in a job-fair type setting.

"He picked up a lot of interest due to his excellent grades and solid film," Kazmier wrote. "I had been getting a lot of calls from the schools that liked him and he took several visits around the country. Maritime ended up being the school that fir him best."

The 5-foot-11, 250-pounder is known for a solid work ethic and strong personality to help compensate for his size. The school is coming off its first winning season and features 16 players from Florida including former Sunlake DB Darren Kanhai.
