Nature Coast rising senior Ja'Juan Story has been named the Sharks' starting quarterback, coach Mark Nash said Monday.

Nash said the decision was made during the weekend after Nature Coast's 20-13 loss at Tampa Catholic on Friday.

The Sharks' offense, other than running back Isaac Bailey, was atrocious with starting quarterback Brenton Nuby completing 2-of-8 passes for 2 yards. And Story's biggest play was an 11-yard run when he was lined up as the quarterback.

Nuby had been converted from defense, but placing Story behind center puts the ball in his hands every offensive play.

Nash said Friday he was struggling with the decision of placing Story at quarterback because most colleges were recruiting Story as a receiver. The Sharks are holding one more week of practice to fulfill their 20-day allotment permitted by the Florida High School Athletic Association.
