Matt Breida, RB, Nature Coast (5-foot-10, 168 pounds)

The latest: The senior standout said Monday that he is planning on visiting Georgia Southern next month. Breida also plans to take an official visit to Toledo, one of his other top choices. “Those are the top two on my mind right now,” said Breida, adding that he’s still surveying his options. Breida said he’s also planning on taking a visit to FIU. Middle Tennessee State visited Nature Coast last week to evaluate him, and Appalachian State is also recruiting him heavily.

Offers: Akron, Toledo, UMass, Georgia Southern, Ball State, Jacksonville State

Last season: Breida rushed for 20 touchdowns and more than 1,600 yards. He also had one of the best games in county history, a 355-yard outburst against Central.

This season: Breida ranks second in Tampa Bay with 828 rushing yards on 98 carries. He has eight touchdowns, a two-point conversion and has rushed for more than 140 yards in his last four games.

Bottom line: Breida is a speedy, shifty talent who could play running back or cornerback in college. He’s among the midseason favorites for North Suncoast Player of the Year honors. Scout and Rivals both rank him as a two-star prospect.
