Newsome defensive end Shawn Boone, a three-year starter for the Wolves, has received his first scholarship offer, Wolves coach Kenneth Hiscock said Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Boone received an over from Furman on Monday, Hiscock said.

Boone, a senior co-captain this past season, was a defensive force for the Wolves, making 54 tackles and 3 sacks with 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.

The Paladins compete in Division I-AA in the Southern Conference. Hiscock said Fuman is recruiting Boone as a defensive end.
