Newsome's Gutsche commits to Florida

Newsome junior Karina Gutsche has committed to play at the University of Florida.

Gutsche made her committment last Friday before leaving for leaving for New Orleans to play in the ODP Region III championship.

Gutsche has been playing midfield this season after playing attack last season.

At Florida, she will be reunited with former Newsome goalkeeper Kendall Graham. Gaither's Jo Dragotta and Sickles' Caitlin Howard are also currently on the UF roster.

The second-seeded Wolves face top-seeded and host East Bay in Friday's Class 5A-8 district final.
