Nine candidates interview for Chamberlain job

Former Buccaneers defensive tackle Chris Hovan and former Middleton and Blake coach Harry Hubbard were among nine candidates to interview for the Chamberlain coaching vacancy Monday, Chiefs principal Tommy Morrill announced.

Morrill and his search committee are seeking a replacement for D.J. Mayo, who resigned earlier this month after one season over a teaching certification issue.

Two of Mayo's 2012 assistants -- Cam Jones and Trae Gentile -- also interviewed. Mayo, who led the Chiefs to a 4-6 record last year, has said he hopes either of the two are hired to replace him.

The full list of candidates:

Gene Clemons
Dwayne Davis
Ed Meierkort
Harry Hubbard
Ken Davis
Christopher Sands
Chris Hovan
Trae Gentile
Cam Jones
