Super 7
Records through Wednesday.
1. Hernando (14-2, 10-0): The Leopards have a deep bullpen that’s kept them at the top of 5A-7. Kyle Kilbourne, David Flowers and Daniel Miller have all made solid appearances on the mound.
2. Wiregrass Ranch (10-2, 4-1): Though the Bulls surprisingly dropped a game to Springstead in the Pasco-Hernando Classic, the Bulls picked up a key district win over Steinbrenner to sit at No. 1 in 7A-8.
3. Central (12-6, 6-3): The Bears hung on through a 12-inning game to defeat Pasco 5-4 and earn the Pasco-Hernando Classic championship.
4. Pasco (10-4, 6-3): The Pirates kept Central on a knife edge in the championship game at last week’s tourney. They’re tied with the Bears for the No. 2 spot in 5A-7.
5. River Ridge (10-4, 8-2): The Royal Knights, on a five-game win streak until Wednesday’s loss in the Dunedin Spring Tournament, sit atop 5A-8, but meet district foe Fivay on Tuesday.
6. Bishop McLaughlin (9-6, 3-2): After dropping a game to Central in the Pasco-Hernando Classic, the Hurricanes got revenge Tuesday, winning 4-2.
7. Wesley Chapel (10-5, 6-4): The Wildcats rallied to beat district opponent Nature Coast in a wild 16-13 victory on Tuesday.
