Baseball super 7
Records through Wednesday
1. Wiregrass Ranch (6-1, 3-1): The Bulls have had a bit of a light week, but they’ll find more tests in next week’s Pasco-Hernando Classic during spring break.
2. Hernando (10-1, 8-0): Decisive wins against Pasco and Weeki Wachee keep the Leopards undefeated in 5A-7.
3. River Ridge (6-3, 6-2): The Royal Knights shut out Tarpon Springs, keeping them tied for first in 5A-8 with Fivay, which River Ridge has beaten this season.
4. Fivay (7-3, 7-2): Pitcher Sean Fluke has earned five wins for the Falcons, who avenged an early defeat to Land O’Lakes with a 6-3 win this week.
5. Bishop McLaughlin (7-4, 3-2): Springstead pulled out a 5-4 win against the Hurricanes, but don’t expect them to stay down long.
6. Sunlake (6-3, 6-3): Wins against district foes River Ridge, Land O’Lakes and Anclote prove the Seahawks can pull out more than surprise wins in a clinch.
7. Wesley Chapel (7-3, 4-3): The Wildcats’ recent wins over Fivay and district foes Central and Zephyrhills are enough to vault them into the super 7.
