Wiregrass Ranch coaches wanted their cross country teams to get a test run at Lecanto, the site of this year’s regional meet.
The results Saturday were promising.
The Bulls came away with two victories in the Lecanto Invitational.
“It’s as challenging of an on-campus course as there is in the area,” Bulls coach Chris Loth said, “and the boys should definitely have a comfort level with it going into November.”
Sam Hippely (16:46) and Ermias Bireda (16:51) finished first and second for the boys to lead Wiregrass to the win. Tyler Mattera and David Hill finished fourth and fifth overall for the Bulls, who finished 25 points ahead of Nature Coast.
