Springstead (11-5-2) at Newsome (22-0): The Eagles have a tall task ahead if they wish to advance to the region finals. Newsome, unbeaten and untied, is the No. 5-ranked team in the nation according to ESPN Rise. The Wolves defeated Plant City 8-0 in 45 minutes in the district final. It took Springstead 110 minutes plus penalty kicks to knock off the Raiders 4-3 in the region quarterfinals. No matter what happens tonight, the current Springstead squad can take solace in the fact that it was the first team in school history to win a girls soccer playoff game.
