Mitchell d. Land O’Lakes (22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-13):
The Mustangs dropped the first game but rallied to seize the next three and win for the fourth time in their past five matches. Mitchell (13-4) has only lost to Tampa Catholic and Tarpon Springs. Land O’Lakes falls to 1-12.

Boys golf
River Ridge 155, Gulf 187:
All four Royal Knights shot 44 or better to help River Ridge improve to 11-1. Michael Stewart’s 33 led the day, while teammates Michael Dodson (38), Robert Glewen (40) and Maxwell Martin (44) also performed well. Senior Alex Walker fired 43, and David Graniero finished with 47 for Gulf (3-7).

Wiregrass Ranch 170, Land O’Lakes 181: The Bulls used stellar performances from Matthew Prenderville (36) and Jeffrey Hawes (38) to knock off the Gators and improve to 7-4. Land O’Lakes fell to 6-6, despite junior Jordan Monds’ 39.

Carrollwood Day 178, Academy at the Lakes 203: The Wildcats fell to 4-4 on the season after a tough loss to Carrollwood Day. Vijay Prasad led AATL with 40; David Singh finished with 45 and Kevin Dobish added 49.

Girls golf
Gulf 219, River Ridge 229:
The Bucs’ top five players all finished within three strokes of each other to knock off River Ridge (3-7). Shea Dickey led the Bucs (4-6) with 53, followed by Sarah Usewick’s 54 and rounds of 56 from Emily Crouch, Amanda Beucler and Alexis Beucler.

Five-set victories for Hernando Christian’s volleyball team this week. The Lions beat Leesburg on Monday night and followed by rallying from two games down to beat Landmark Christian on Tuesday

4 Wins for Hernando volleyball after a four-set win over Nature Coast (2-12). It was the Sharks’ eighth consecutive loss.

Lauren Gonzalez, Ridgewood: The senior setter had seven kills and two Game 3 aces to help the Rams sweep Anclote.

Matthew Prenderville, Wiregrass Ranch: The senior boys golfer fired a match-low 36 to lead the Bulls to an 11-stroke victory over Land O’Lakes.

Michael Stewart, River Ridge: The boys golfer continued a stellar sophomore season. His 33 against Gulf was the day’s lowest reported round.

Heather Stewart, River Ridge: The girls golfer’s solid round of 45 was the best performance by a female, though it came in a 229-219 loss to Gulf.
