Bishop McLaughlin def. Admiral Farragut (25-18, 25-23, 25-10): The Hurricanes were challenged in only one game and rolled to a convincing win over the Blue Jackets. The win preserves Bishop McLaughlin’s perfect record (2-0) following the team’s best run in school history last fall.

Boys golf
Mitchell 159, Sunlake 160: The Mustangs used a balanced effort to edge the Seahawks and help Mitchell (5-0) remain perfect. Freshman Michael Spinger led Mitchell with 1-over 37. Dylan Strout (39), Donnie Gabrelick (40) and Manoli Stavrakis (43) rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs. Brandon Jungbauer (36) and Andrew Eastly (40) were the Seahawks’ top performers.

Fivay 170, Wesley Chapel 174: The Falcons improved to 4-1 with a four-stroke victory over Wesley Chapel (1-4). Nick Piro shot 38, and Jake Schoonover finished at 39 to help lead Fivay to the victory. Schoonover earned third-team, all-conference honors last season as a junior.

Pasco 169, Hudson 174: Austin Riddaugh continued his successful high school career with a team-best 39 to help the Pirates knock off the Cobras (0-3). Garrett Dixon was also a top performer for Pasco, shooting 41. Mitchell Campbell had the match’s top performance, firing 38 in the defeat. Blaine West added 41 for the Cobras.

Girls golf
Gulf 220, Ridgewood 254: Sarah Usewick’s match-low 47 led the Buccaneers to their first win of the season. Alexis Beucler (52) and Emily Crouch (59) also had good rounds for Gulf. Sioux Johnson led the Rams with 59.

Fivay 206, Wesley Chapel 207: The Falcons are off to a 2-1 start thanks to a close victory over the Wildcats (0-2). Amber Mariano’s 47 and Lauren Mariano’s 51 paced the Falcons. Hana Lee shot 44 in Wesley Chapel’s defeat.

Turner Imhoff, Wesley Chapel: The junior transfer from Pasco fired a match-best 37 in the Wildcats’ boys golf team’s loss to Fivay.

Michael Spinger, Mitchell: The freshman boys golfer shot 1-over 37 to help his team squeak by Sunlake.

Brandon Jungbauer, Sunlake: The senior boys golfer had the day’s best score, even-par 36, in a loss to Mitchell.

Austin Riddaugh, Pasco: The senior led Pasco’s boys golf team to a win over Hudson with 39. Last year’s first-team, all-conference player is averaging 39 this year.

Hana Lee, Wesley Chapel: Lee was an all-conference performer as a freshman and is off to a good start during her junior season. Her 44 in a loss to Fivay was the best female score Tuesday.
