Northside Christian's Katelyn Greenleaf took eighth at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational this past weekend with a time of 19 minutes, 41 seconds.

For Greenleaf, a senior, this was her first major test this season. The only other runner in Class 1A to finish ahead of Greenleaf was Fort Myers Evangelica's Sarah Candiano, who was fourth in 18:55.

Osceola's Alexis Irwin was 17th in 19:46 and St. Petersburg's Alex Eaton was 25th in 20:09. The Warriors were 13th in the team standings and the Mustangs were 16th.

Osceola and Northside Christian, which are ranked 10th in Class 2A and 1A, respectively, by, were each invited to participate in the Race of Champions at the race in Titusville this Saturday.

In the boys field at the Mountain Dew Invitational, Palm Harbor University's Luke Buschman was 44th in 17:18 and Northside Christian's Mario Ojeda was 57th in 17:36.

Admiral Farragut's Blake Arnold won the boys race in 17:01 at the Seffner Christian Invitational in Dover this past weekend.
