Northside Christian lineman Patrick Tomlin has orally committed to Augustana, a private liberal arts school in Sioux Falls that plays Division II football.
A 6-foot-3, 300-pound guard, Tomlin has drawn widespread interest from schools due to his size and academics, including USF. But after visiting Wheaton College in Illinois and Lake Erie College in Ohio and meeting with Florida Atlantic coaches, Tomlin chose Augustana.
The Vikings were 6-5 last season and compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Tomlin will be breaking some ground at Augustana -- the Vikings currently don't have any players from Florida on their roster.
