Last week, Northside Christian's Kayla Walton reached a milestone with her 1,000th career point.

Walton, a 6-foot-2 center, achieved the mark during a holiday tournament. What makes the feat even more impressive is that she missed last season with a torn ACL in her left knee. Walton has come back strong this season and is averaging 18.1 points per game for the Mustangs.

On Tuesday, Walton scored 36 in a double overtime victory against Shorecrest.
