Big news on the Michael McFarland front.
According to the Gainesville Sun, the standout Blake TE will not be grayshirted and enroll at Florida next January. Instead, the longtime Gators commit will arrive in Gainesville in June and be part of the 2010 Gators signing class.
Earlier this week, McFarland said the Gators asked him to grayshirt, giving him time to get more physically prepared for play in the Southeastern Conference. He planned to honor their request.
In recent days, however, the Gators have had a change of heart. Now, they want the 6-foot-6, 230-pound McFarland on campus sooner rather than later.
“I guess they made a mistake,” McFarland told the Sun.
