Largo offensive coordinator Dave Angelo, who has engineered one of Tampa Bay's most prolific scoring attacks in the last five years, is stepping down as he pursues a career in adminsitration.
But that doesn't mean he won't be around. Angelo still plans on helping coach quarterbacks while assisting new offensive coordinator Ryan Taylor. Taylor, the junior varsity offensive coordinator last season, will call the plays.
Angelo was a former assistant coach at Cincinnati Moeller before joing the Packers staff in 2003. He was Largo's offensive coordinator during the Packers' recent playoff run, which includes five straight district titles and consecutive state semifinal appearances in 2007 and '08.
"Dave is a heck of guy and he's not a big ego guy at all,'' said Largo coach Rick Rodriguez. "He still wants to help when he can. He's not the type who has to be at the center, calling the plays, getting the attention.''
