Tarpon Springs football coach George Kotis has not talked to Spongers OT/DT Clay Paino since his expected return from Brown on Sunday night, but regardless of how well that trip went his standout senior is expected to take one more visit.

To Holy Cross.

“He likes the combination …. they’re a good football program and at the same time good academically,” Kotis said. “He doesn’t just want to go to a school that’s just a good football school or good academic school. He wants to set his future up and at the same time play competitive ball in a good league.”

Kotis thinks Holy Cross has an uphill battle.

Even before his trip over the weekend, Paino listed Brown, an Ivy League team, as his favorite. Paino’s older brother currently plays in the Ivy League; he’s a linebacker for league champ Penn.
