Gulf DT Leon Orr, generally regarded as one of the country’s top recruits, will miss the upcoming Under Armour High School All-American Game because of recent surgery to repair a fractured leg.

“There’s no way he’s going to be cleared to play,” Gulf coach Jay Fulmer said.

In a Week 2 win over River Ridge, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound senior and Florida commit injured his leg and hasn't played since. Orr had surgery in late October and expects to be fine by mid-January.

The Under Armour High School All-American Game, however, is Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

The Under Armour High School All-American Game will feature many big-name recruits. Tampa Catholic OL Chaz Green is among those who will play in this year’s game.
