Osceola coach Kevin Mullins confirmed that his ace, Taylor Layner, will start against Dunedin on Friday in a matchup of two of the county's best teams.

Layner, the Times 2009 pitcher of the year, is undefeated this season and has helped the Warriors to a 19-2 record.

"We'll put our best out there and see if we can beat Dunedin," Mullins said.

The game could be a preview of next week's Pinellas County Athletic Conference championship. The Falcons have already clinched the North Division. Osceola can wrap up the South if St. Petersburg loses to Lakewood this week or the Warriors beat the Green Devils on Monday.
