Palm Harbor University senior golfer Matt Cote signed with Florida Gulf Coast University in a ceremony on the Hurricanes' campus this morning.

FGCU offered Cote a full ride according to Hurricanes' coach Jim Fuller.

Cote was a Times first team All-Pinellas and All-Suncoast selection after leading Palm Harbor University to an 11th place finish at the Class 2A state golf tournament this past fall. He fired 3-over 147 (70-77) to finish in a tie for 20th place individually.

Cote carried an even par (36) stroke average to earn PCAC first team status as a senior. He won the Class 2A, District 12 tournament by two strokes.
