Pasco ATH Janarion Grant could be sidelined until the Nov. 2 game against Zephyrhills, Grant said in a text message Tuesday night.

The Division I recruit has missed all of his senior season with injuries. He sat out the preseason game against Hernando with a tweaked ankle and has missed all five of Pasco’s regular-season victories with a broken hand sustained in practice. Grant said in a text that his hand is “not 100% yet.”

The Pirates are ranked second in Class 5A and will be heavily favored in their next three games against Hudson, Fivay and Ridgewood before closing the season against rival Zephyrhills and Delray Beach Village Academy.

Grant was the Times’ co-North Suncoast player of the year as a junior last fall. He finished with 28 touchdowns and more than 1,800 all-purpose yards to help the Pirates advance to the 5A state semifinal.

The three-star prospect holds about a dozen offers, including USF, West Virginia, Rutgers and Texas Tech.
