Pasco DB Jamie Byrd has a dilemma.
The Pirates' hard-hitting senior has been invited to Florida's Friday Night Lights camp, a one-day event this Friday night at school's Gainesville campus.
The problem? The camp conflicts with an ESPN RISE 7-on-7 competition that begins Friday at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
"My team needs me," Byrd said. "I haven't made a decision yet. I'm going to talk to my coach (Tom McHugh)."
Byrd would love to pick up a scholarship offer from Florida and join childhood friend, Nature Coast ATH Ja'Juan Story. Traveling to Florida on Friday would likely give him some face time with coaches and recruits, and give him closer look at the school. But his talents would certainly be missed at Disney.
"It's a big tournament in Orlando," Byrd said. "We play a lot of teams around the state. ...If you make it to Sunday, you make it on TV."
Byrd has picked up offers from Western Michigan and Florida Atlantic in recent weeks. He already has offers from Purdue and Iowa State.
