Pasco's Jamie Byrd and Hakeeme Ishmar received scholarship offers from Georgia Southern and Youngstown State.

Georgia Southern offered Mitchell running back Ricky Trinidad on Monday.

Byrd already had an offer from Purdue last month, the same school former Pirate Josh Johnson attends.

Byrd earned Times first-team all-Suncoast honors, was the Times all-North Suncoast Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and was named a junior All-American. He led the Pirates with 129 tackles, six sacks and four fumble recoveries.

These are Ishmar's first offers, though plenty of programs have shown interest. He was the Pirates' top receiver with 400 yards and four touchdowns in '09 sharing the load with four receivers with at least 350 yards and two or more touchdowns each.

Also of note, Dan Brown orally committed to Defiance (Ohio) College. The 6-foot-2, 270-pounder had 27 tackles as a defensive tackle in '09.
