The Pasco football program had three more seniors sign letters of intent on Monday morning, bringing the total number to seven for the Pirates’ Class of 2011.
Charles Wood, Sage Stephens and Cordale Baldwin all inked with various college programs in a Monday morning ceremony at Pasco.
Wood, an offensive tackle, signed with Quincy University, a Division II school in Quincy, Ill. Wood earned second team St. Petersburg Times’ All-North Suncoast and second team All-Sunshine Athletic Conference honors following a productive season on the Pirates’ line.
Wood’s linemate Stephens, an offensive guard, has accepted a scholarship to play for Division III Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. Stephens also was picked to the All-SAC second team, and he was a Times’ all-North Suncoast honorable mention selection.
With Wood and Stephens joining Zachery Hutcheson, who signed with Bethel University on Thursday, the Pirates now have three members of their offensive line signed to play in college.
Behind that veteran line, the Pirates accumulated over 2,200 yards rushing and 2,220 yards passing and averaged 43 points a game.
Also Monday, Baldwin cast his lot with Dean College, a junior college in Franklin, Mass. From his linebacker position, Baldwin recorded 51 tackles (38 solo), recovered two fumbles and had an interception. Baldwin was a second team All-SAC and Times’ All-North Suncoast honorable mention selection.
Pasco now has seven players from its senior class with their college plans official. In addition to the aforementioned quartet, Jamie Byrd signed with TCU and Hakeeme Ishmar with FAU on Signing Day and Mike Clower is headed to Ellsworth Community College.
Pasco went an undefeated 10-0 during the 2010 regular season and beat Lakewood in the Class 3A playoffs before bowing out to state champion Jefferson.
