Pasco senior safety Jamie Byrd, who is still waiting on an offer from Boise State, will make his first official recruiting trip next Thursday (Dec. 16) to visit the Broncos.

Byrd, who said he plans to use all five of his official visits but has only the Boise State trip scheduled, is hoping the Broncos extend an offer once he's on campus. Byrd will also be paying close attention to how he will fit in athletically as well as academically with the Broncos.

"I want to see how their business program is going," Byrd said. "I want to see how they play as a football team, see how they prepare."

The Broncos have also invited Byrd to attend their game against Utah in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Bowl.

Byrd picked up another offer last week from New Mexico and said Bowling Green seems close to extending an offer as well.

Byrd, who was named the Sunshine Athletic Conference defensive player of the year this season, currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa State, Purdue, Western Michigan, Georgia Southern and Florida Atlantic.
