Plant City sophomore quarterback Bennie Coney has been invited to participate in Steve Clarkson’s Dreammaker Showcase at the Orlando Citrus Bowl on April 10, Raiders coach Jason Strunk said.

Clarkson -- a private quarterback tutor who has mentored the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Jimmy Clausen, Jake Locker, Matt Barkley, Matt Leinart and Terrelle Pryor -- is holding showcases in 15 cities across the country.

Coney threw for 1,609 yards and 14 touchdown passes as a sophomore. He also ran for 289 yards and 7 scores.

Players in Orlando will be evaluated by Clarkson as well as ESPN recruiting analysts Tom Luginbill and Mike Gleason. Top performers will be selected to participate in this summer's Steve Clarkson Super 7 Maui Retreat in Hawaii, where they will work with the quarterbacks like Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Roethlisberger and Leinart.

Jefferson’s Quentin Williams is also slated to participate in the event.
