Palm Harbor University scored in the top of the seventh then held on to beat host St. Petersburg Catholic 5-4 in the Baron Classic baseball tournament last week.

The Hurricanes (3-0) had to rally just to get to the championship game. In its first-round game, PHU fell behind 5-1 to Bishop McLaughlin before scoring four runs in the seventh to tie the score, then won it with a run in the eighth

Zac Johnson hit .545 for the tournament and Danny Murray batted .500. Andrew Goot pitched 8 2/3 innings and had one win for the Hurricanes.

"It's good for our confidence to get off to a fast start," PHU coach Jim Felce said. "We've put in a lot of work and things are starting to come together."
