The Palm Harbor University volleyball team captured silver at the First Place Volleyball Dig Pink Tournament at the Orlando Sports Complex over the weekend.

The Hurricanes (13-3) won four-straight matches to reach the final before being swept by Oviedo 25-21, 25-14, 25-19 in the championship match to place second in the tournament's top (premier) bracket.

PHU's toughest match before the final came against top-seeded Bishop Moore in the opener. The Hurricanes trailed 9-1 in the third and deciding game but rallied to win 21-19. The Hurricanes beat Nature Coast and Winter Springs to finish pool play undefeated and advance to the semifinals where they swept a strong Lake Mary squad 25-18, 26-24, 25-14 to reach the championship match.

The tournament hosted 48 schools total and 16 in the Premier Bracket.
