Palm Harbor University linebacker Quentin Cumings waited and wondered for months where he would play college football. It all ended last week when he officially committed to Division II Edinboro (Pa.) University.
Cumings had a few small offers, including one from NAIA Webber International. But he said it wasn’t the right fit. After exhausting most of his options, Cumings planned to walk on at FIU.
It wasn’t until three weeks ago that Edinboro showed interest.
The recruitment was quick. Cumings was on a plane for a weekend visit and three days later made his commitment.
“The trip was unbelievable,” he said. “The coach was looking for linebackers and I’ll get a chance to play right away. That was a big plus for me, especially heading somewhere that’s going to be pretty cold. It was nice to feel wanted by a school, and I’m so glad I waited before making my decision.”
