Girls region soccer quarterfinals
All games Thursday at 7 p.m. Admission is $6.

Class 6A, Bloomingdale (11-6-1) at Palm Harbor University (17-2-0)
The Hurricanes, who have won two straight state titles in different classifications, are on a roll after beating St. Petersburg to advance to the postseason for the 14th straight season. The Hurricanes’ last lost came in early December to Seminole. A big reason for PHU’s second-half surge has been its defense, which has recorded eight straight shutouts.

Class 6A, St. Petersburg (13-5-0) at Wharton (14-9-0)
The Green Devils have played tough and strong competition. But advancing past the first round could be difficult considering they are going up against a Wildcats team that has won 10 straight after starting 4-9.

Class 5A,  Northeast (9-4-2) at Seminole (19-2-2)
The Warhawks, defending state finalists, have the deepest team in the county. They rolled through the district tournament, outscoring Tarpon Springs and East Lake by a combined 13-0. Gina Hayduke provided most of the scoring with six goals in two district games. This is a rematch of last season’s region quarterfinals, which the Warhawks won 9-0.

Class 5A, East Lake (12-5-2) at Pinellas Park (8-6-1)
The Patriots made a surprise run toward a district title and face an Eagles team that is trying to reach the region semifinals and secure a possible rematch with Seminole. Expect a tough, physical game.

Class 4A, Osceola (12-5-1) at Steinbrenner (16-2-2)
After winning convincingly in the district semifinals, the Warriors were shut out by Lakewood Ranch in the final. Now Osceola has to travel to Steinbrenner, which is the No. 2 team in Hillsborough in the latest coaches’ poll.

Class 3A, Lakeland McKeel Academy (15-6-3) at St. Petersburg Catholic (9-11-0)
The Barons made an improbable run toward a district title, knocking off nationally ranked Clearwater Central Catholic in the semifinals and beating Tampa Catholic in the final. SPC prepared for the district with a tough schedule. Four of the Barons' losses came against CCC, Seminole and Tampa Prep. That should help them in the postseason.

Class 2A, Shorecrest (13-7-0) at Tampa Prep (16-5-2)
The Chargers have the misfortune of playing Tampa Prep, which has a history of making it far in the postseason and beat Shorecrest 8-0 this season.
