Pinellas Park offensive lineman Eric Hampson has committed to Old Dominion, Patriots coach Kenny Crawford said.

Hampson, a Times' first-team, all-Pinellas County selection, made his decision after visiting the school last week. He canceled a trip to Ohio this weekend.

“Eric just really fell in love with the area and the school,” Crawford said.

Old Dominion is a Division I-AA school that is moving to I-A and joining Conference USA in 2014.

Hampson still is receiving interest from Division I schools with Florida International and Missouri making late pushes, Crawford said.
