Pinellas Park is hosting its annual Hoops for Lupus shootout Wednesday.

The shootout is a double-header with Northeast and Boca Ciega in the first game at 6 p.m., followed by the Patriots and Shorecrest at 7:30.

All proceeds from Wednesday’s games will be donated to the local chapter of the Lupus Foundation.

Pinellas Park coach Jon Cabino came up with the idea for the tournament. Two years ago, Cabino found out his brother, Robert, has Lupus.

“This is for a great cause, and I think having two games will allow us to raise a lot of money,” Cabino said.
