Pinellas Park’s Jarey Brown and Brandon Espiras both signed to play basketball in college, Patriots coach Jon Cabino said.
Brown, a co-captain who averaged 8 points and 3 assists per game this past season, signed with Piedmont, a Division III school in Demorest, Ga.
Espiras signed with Ateneo de Manila, a private school run by the Society of the Jesuits in the Phillipines. Cabino said Espiras found out about the opportunity to play at Ateneo de Manila by playing in a Filipino basketball league in Tampa.
“Brandon did that all on his own,” Cabino said. “He really found a situation for himself.”
