Pinellas Park wide receiver/linebacker Jeremi Powell received a nomination to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Patriots coach Kenny Crawford said.

Powell, who committed to Florida in February, has been one of the most sought after recruits in Pinellas County this offseason. He also had offers from Alabama from Iowa State, Purdue, South Carolina and USF this offseason.

Powell is versatile athlete who shined as a receiver and linebacker this past season with the Patriots. He had offers to play both positions. But he will be strictly a linebacker with the Gators.

Last season, Countryside offensive lineman Tyler Moore (Nebraska) and Tarpon Springs offensive lineman Zach DeBell (Georgia) both played in the Army All-American game.
